Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. In my first blogpost. I’m gonna tell you about my trip to Seattle that lasted for 30 days. I hope you enjoy it.
I arrived to my destination during the afternoon of october 13th. I spent the very first day just getting to know the neighbourhood where my hotel was located. It’s a nice area in downtown Seattle with loads of great coffee shops and parks. Although, my first day didn’t last very long as I was very tired due to the jet lag.
The following days I visited the Space Needle and Seattle Public Library. The Space Needle is a famous landmark, an icon for Seattle and I just couldn’t wait to visit it. At 184 meters height, you can see the whole city from above. At the very top of the building there is a balcony going all the way around, creating the possibility to see the city from all angles. It was a very cool experience even though it rained cats and dogs. The weather in Seattle is for the most part gloomy and rainy, but I don’t mind at all. The public library is another well-known building due to its unique shape and being fully in glass.

I had many days where I was just strolling around the city, seeing local bands play and finding the best restaurants. You can see local bands play somewhere every night and that has really been one of the highlights of this trip. The music was very good and I’m very impressed by the musicians. I also met a lot of people during my stay in Seattle. The people are nice, friendly and very laid back. If it wasn’t for all the great experiences, I’d go back only to meet those people again.

The Pacific Northwest Ballet is one of america’s greatest ballet theatre with dancers like Elisabeth Murphy and Benjamin Griffiths, so as a former ballet dancer, I just had to see the art in person. I went and saw Swan Lake, a classic ballet put up all around the world every year with music from the very best, Pjotr Tjajkovskij. It was wonderful and I can now really understand why it is considered to be one of the best theatres. The ferry system is the largest in the US so I also went on one of those, of course.

As I’m now sitting in the airport of Seattle, soon about to board the plane, I think about the time I spent in Seattle and what a marvellous experience I had here. I would absolutely like to go back some time in the future to meet all the friends that I’ve made again.
Thank you for reading my blog,
Julia
